Cannon Confidential, one of the UK’s leading confidential waste destruction businesses, has introduced a new service vehicle which will save up to 10% on fuel costs whilst reducing the amount of nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide and particulates emitted.
The trucks are DAF LF45-140 7.5 tonne vehicles with an aerodynamic ‘tear-drop’ shaped body made from 100% recyclable, lightweight, polypropylene-honeycomb Omnia panels. The combined effect of the aerodynamic body shape and the lightweight panels save on fuel, and an increased payload of 2.8 tonnes delivers efficiencies by allowing the vehicles to carry more confidential waste material in each service run.

New Cannon Confidential Fleet
Cannon Confidential provides a nationwide service on the UK mainland from four strategically located collection depots. The introduction of the new vehicles is the first step in a 15 month programme to renew the existing fleet.
Mike Drake, Specialist Services Director, commented “Our first set of new vehicles meets the Euro 5 emission regulations and we aim to roll this out across the business. The savings on fuel and the increased payload will benefit our customers, our company and the environment, so it’s positive news all round.”
Cannon Confidential is a member of the British Security Industry Association and works to a European Standard for the secure destruction of confidential waste (BS EN 15713:2009) as part of its ISO 9001:2008. All Cannon Confidential staff are security screened to BS7858.
